Wellness Wednesday

I am a little late doing my post today. Some how time has seemed to get away from me today. Anyways, I took some of y'alls advice and steered clear of the scale this morning. Although I will be honest and say yesterday morning I couldn't help myself but I will save the results for next (hoping that they haven't changed for the worse.)
After last weeks grim weigh-in, I will admit that I was feeling down in the dumps and discouraged. I knew I wasn't eating the healthiest foods in the world but I wasn't eating big portions and I was trying to make somewhat smart decisions. Plus I was exercising at least 3 times a week. So why wasn't I seeing any results on the scale. I can say that I have notice some transformations in certain areas of my body which makes me happy. I was honestly starting to get desperate. So desperate that I was seriously considering getting lipsuction on my big ol' butt. I even emailed a local plastic surgeon to get some in depth information. I am somewhat over that...for now anyways.
Back to my original story. On Wednesday nights my brother calls to check in with my parents. Last Wednesday he called and I had a chance to talk to him. I was really wanting to tell him about my cool new iPod Touch that I am totally loving but we got on the subject of our weight. I told him of my delima and he suggested at 7 day detox. He begins telling me about all the toxins that are in my body that are not allowing my body to process food correctly and that is why I am not seeing any results. He told me where to get this little dirty system and my first question to him was "Do I need to buy a pack of Depends while I am there?" He laughed and said no. I have taken his advice and started this 7 day detox to rid my body of these toxins. The system consists of a fiber mixture to be mixed with water each morning (it says on the package "This is not a laxative." Yeah right!) followed by a pill and then a pill at night. Each day you up the dosage of the pill first in the morning and then at night. Plus I have to drink 80 ounces of water each day!!! I cut off a customer today at work while making a Bee line for the bathroom!
I am on day 2 and so far so good. My food intake has been pretty good as well. Again, I am concentrating more on my portions but also being careful of the amount of calories and fat each item contains. I wouldn't say that I am keeping "score" with my calories but just being mindful. The weather down in here in the south has been excellent. I have been walking everyday this week. Yesterday as me and Shelby (that's my dog) were walking, I discovered that she is a neighborhood celebrity. Here am I power-walking down the walkway, my iPod volume turned up, head bouncing to the beats of Justin Timberlake (don't hate), basically dragging poor Shelby behind me and here comes this lady with an ugly black poodle that stands as tall as my waist and desperately needs to be groomed. I see her lips moving like she is talking to me. I can't hear her because I am jammin' out so I politely take my ear pieces out and smile. She says to me "Is that Shelby?" so I answer "Yes m'am....." trying to figure out who this lady is and she keeps going on and on about my dog. I so desperately wanted to say "Thanks lady but can't you see I am on a mission here?" Then the rain came. Shelby and I were huffing it back to the house. Now I remember why I don't run!! Hope you all have a good week! Until next week...Live Well

Sounds like torture to me but have at it! Kuddos on the walking. You need to journal those food choices.
Hoping the scales have a great number for you next week.

Hee hee!! You trip me out!
I am so glad you are persevering on your journey to Live Well.
Let me know how the "cleansing" goes. I may just have to try it myself (WITH the Depends, of course!) ;-)

Oh, those ugly tall black poodles are just so weird looking! LOL

This detox sounds like such a great cleanse--good for you. I wonder if maybe it is difficult for you to loose because you're not that large. That's what I'm guessing. Larger people lose faster. Either way, you will lose that butt--your determination will see to it!!

Yes let us know how the cleansing goes, I might try it too let me know where to buy what you bought! I bet Shelby was just gorgeous compared to the poodle. Now I agree with Darlene..you probably do not have much to loose..so just give it time..usually that is best..journal and time with exercise..so you are doing fantastic!!!

I am thinking about doing the detox thing as well.

I remember, years ago, I got severe food poisioning and after "naturally eliminating" everything from my digestive track, I felt . . . weak.

Okay, but when I healed, I felt better than I had in years.
